How to use this converter
Choose the target region before converting. Keep the original when editing contracts, quotations or personal names. English, numbers, links and other scripts remain in the document. Regional choices can change vocabulary as well as glyphs, so review the destination text.
Powered by OpenCCJS 1.4.2 with updated official OpenCC character and phrase dictionaries, pinned to revision a806b775 (26 October 2026). General Traditional uses OpenCC standard forms. Taiwan includes regional vocabulary (软件 → 軟體, 鼠标 → 滑鼠). Hong Kong uses the established character-variant configuration; experimental Hong Kong vocabulary replacement is not enabled.
Conversion limits & mixed text
Some simplified characters correspond to several traditional characters. Dictionaries resolve many phrases, but cannot guarantee the intended meaning for names, specialist terms or isolated characters. A round trip may change wording or merge distinctions. This is script conversion, not Cantonese translation, language detection or proofreading.
Plain text only: rich text, font metadata and document layout are not imported. No font is included or required for Unicode output beyond your device’s normal script support.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE
Compare regional wording before choosing a Chinese conversion
Traditional glyphs and regional vocabulary are different choices. Compare the same phrase under the general Traditional and Taiwan settings, then review the result in context. The Hong Kong setting uses supported character variants; it does not translate the passage into Cantonese.
- Keep the original 软件 鼠标 自行车. Choose Simplified → Traditional · 简体 → 繁體 and select Convert text.
- Repeat with Simplified → Taiwan · 台灣用字與詞彙. The checked Taiwan output is 軟體 滑鼠 腳踏車.
- For 里面 群众, choose Simplified → Hong Kong · 香港字形. The checked output is 裏面 羣眾.
- Use Copy result or Download TXT after reviewing names and context-sensitive terms.
